Audios

A musical and choreographic exploration based on five pieces of Baroque music linked to the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice

Brief

The Cocyte project is a musical and choreographic exploration based on five pieces of Baroque music linked to the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice: this delicate exploration focuses on the intensity of the emotional expressions associated with this revolutionary myth, as well as the fusion of Baroque music and contemporary dance.

From the encounter between a dancer and ten musicians emerges a new instrument, supplementary to and complementing that of each musician: the dancer’s body.

In an era of rapid change and amidst the complexity of the choices we face, the sense of disarray evoked by this myth, with its contrasts and ruptures, seems more relevant than ever.
