A unique perspective on Baroque music within the context of experimentation

Brief

Transfuga is a musical performance that employs a process in which two voices are uniquely intertwined as they unfold, like a narrative that has neither beginning nor end but remains ever-standing, like the double-helix staircase of François I’s castle.

The performance consists of miniatures, short sequences, in which the flutist explores the limits and boundaries of an amplified Baroque instrument (here a traverso and a piccolo). The subversion of and resistance to accepted norms in the practice of this type of instrument will lead the audience to discover these means of sound production in a surprising and uncompromising form. This experience offers a unique perspective on Baroque music within the context of experimentation.
